Abuse Allegations[]
In February 2021, Evan Rachel Wood (former fiancé of Manson) named Marilyn Manson as her alleged abuser. Immediately, Manson wrote a statement on Instagram: "Obviously, my art and my life have long been magnets for controversy, but these recent claims about me are horrible distortions of reality, My intimate relationships have always been entirely consensual with like-minded partners. Regardless of how - and why - others are now choosing to misrepresent the past, that is the truth."
As of May 2021, over 15 women have accused Manson of sexual assault, along with other physical and/or psychological abuse. Currently, Esme Bianco is suing Marilyn Manson for "rape, sexual assault, and trafficking." Ashley Walters (his former personal assistant) reportedly filed a complaint against Manson in May 2021 alleging "sexual assault, sexual harassment, sexual battery, and infliction of emotional distress." Another woman dubbed "Jane Doe" filed a lawsuit in May 2021 accusing Manson of "rape, degrading acts of sexual exploitation, manipulation, and psychological abuse." A member of Manson's team "strongly denies the accusations" in Doe's lawsuit.
